Termination of Services

Termination of service will occur on Tuesday through Thursdays of a business week, unless otherwise stated by collections supervisor. Termination of service will begin no later that 8:30 p.m. on the scheduled day of disconnection and reconnection of service will begin by 12:30 p.m. on day payment is made. At the discretion of collection supervisor and/or management, no arrangements are accepted once a service has been terminated and no terminated service will be reconnected until full payment of past-due amount, in addition to reconnection charges are collected. Reconnect charges are as follows:

l.) $30.00 to restore service during regular business hours.

2.) $45.00 to restore service after regular business hours.

If service is reconnected after regular business hours, customers are required to sign a form provided by service representatives stating customer will pay full past-due amount in addition to "after hour" reconnect charges no later than 2:00 p.m. of the following business day. (All above mentioned information is provided and clearly stated on form.) If payment is not made by indicated deadline-service will be disconnected same day before 5:00 p.m. and will not be reconnected until full amount due is paid during regular business hours only. (Service will not be reconnected consecutively during after-hour reconnections for any one customer.)

All payments for the disconnection of service must be made in the WKUD office. WKUD service representatives will not accept payment outside the WKUD office under any circumstance.

WKUD service representatives will be in uniforms and marked vehicles and will have WKUD identification anytime they visit a customer's home.

A charge will be assessed at the manager's discretion to any account for meter tampering and/or damage to municipal owned property.

Any account using a non-sufficient check to have service restored after disconnection will be immediately disconnected without further notice from WKUD until said check is replaced in good funds.
