Our Mission

West Knox Utility District's mission is to provide safe, reliable, and cost-effective water and wastewater service in an efficient and courteous manner.

Company Profile

The West Knox Utility District (WKUD) was incorporated as a municipality or public corporation on October 18, 1954 by the order of the County Executive of Knox County Tennessee pursuant to provisions of the District Act. This Act provides that such as incorporated municipality or public corporations shall exist in perpetuity and possess the powers set forth in the District Act. The District's service area of seventy-two square miles is bordered on the east by the City of Knoxville, on the south by Interstate Highways 40 and 75, and on the north and west by Loudon counties, respectively. The North and west boundaries are formed by Melton Hill Lake, created by the impoundment of the Clinch River by the Melton Hill Dam. Today WKUD serves over 20,000 customers in one of the fastest growing counties in Tennessee.
